Review by hotel critic
My recent stay at Hotel Cacao Rio Celeste far exceeded my high expectations in every aspect. The beautiful gardens were a true haven for bird enthusiasts like myself, where I marveled at toucans, hummingbirds, and butterflies while sipping on the wonderful coffee provided by the attentive staff, Jonathon and Jacob. Despite the kitchen undergoing renovations during my visit, the breakfast tokens for the nearby soda were a delightful alternative, offering excellent food prepared by friendly locals. The experience of watching the sunset over the Miravelle volcano from the upper deck terrace was simply breathtaking, and I found myself captivated by the serene atmosphere, enjoying the company of the abundant birdlife. The outdoor kitchen facilities were a fantastic addition, allowing for a sense of home-away-from-home comfort, complete with a fridge, microwave, and kettle for convenience. The personalized attention from Lily during breakfast made me feel truly valued as a guest, creating a warm and inviting start to each day. The proximity of Tenorio Park and Rio Celeste added an extra layer of convenience for nature lovers, and the cozy town of Bijagua offered authentic local experiences just a short walk away. The simplicity and cleanliness of the room, coupled with the warm showers and the charm of discovering frogs at night with Johnny, made me appreciate the unique beauty of the surrounding environment even more. Johnny's passion for the local wildlife and his engaging personality truly enhanced my stay, leaving a lasting impression and a desire to return. In conclusion, Hotel Cacao Rio Celeste stands out as a gem in the Costa Rican countryside, offering a personalized and enriching experience for nature enthusiasts and travelers seeking a genuine connection to the local community. From the well-maintained gardens to the thoughtful gestures of the staff, every detail contributed to a truly memorable and exceptional stay that I wholeheartedly recommend to anyone looking for a unique and unforgettable eco-friendly accommodation.
